As I have begun this journey of the MKMMA and in Week 2, it is amazing to learn how our subconscious is so embedded in our brain. When reading about the conscious and subconscious mind it can really be confusing at times. There is so much value in reading some things over and over again as you notice all of a sudden something you’ve been reading finally comes to the surface! You pause and read it over again several times and can’t believe that you just noticed it.
I particularly have enjoyed reading Og Mandino’s “The Greatest Salesman in the World” Chapter 8 The Scroll Marked I. We have the assignment of reading this three times a day-, morning, noon and before going to sleep for one month. Talk about hitting home-, good habits, bad habits, and so many habits we have picked up along the way. I have always known I have many bad habits but to be honest really didn’t see them as such a negative influence on my life. At times I even make fun of my bad habits but now I see them in a whole new light and they are not pretty! They do not serve anyone or me well so I am totally open and following through on our MKMMA assignments. In Mark J’s Week 2 video he talked about his past students who strongly made the suggestion that he MUST stress the value of following through with all assignments as tedious or ridiculous they may seem. So, IF you decide to embark on this journey it only makes sense to follow through with integrity or as Mark J says in his Boston accent “forget about it”!
Remember, this is the “Game of IF”-, we are at a fork in the road and have a choice. I have made the choice to replace bad habits with good habits and know that I am authentically making changes-, not just saying I am making changes or want to make changes as I have in the past.
I never thought I would enjoy the assignment of blogging-, especially about habits! If I only knew!!!
Thank you for the day!
